Abstract

Abstract Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the etiology of Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19). COVID-19 causes various symptoms in humans, ranging from mild to severe degrees and often causes death. The spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is so rapid that the incidence and mortality from COVID-19 continue to increase. It also happened in Indonesia and caused the Indonesian government to make new regulations, especially in the management of death and burial of COVID-19’s corpses to do the appropriate medical protocols to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. Regulations made in Indonesia often cause controversy in the community because they are considered not in accordance with the traditions and religious principles of the Indonesian people. Based on the bioethical aspect, the management of death and burial of COVID-19’s corpses will continue to be done in accordance with the religion and customs adopted by the corpse while still implementing health protocols for the common good. Various controversies have arisen in Indonesian society due to the lack of delivery of a good education to the people of Indonesia, especially since Indonesia consists of diverse cultures and religions that have been practiced for decades and must undergo a change in the COVID-19 pandemic.
